BAYLESS Steven Martin Bayless, age 53, of Richton Park, Illinois, formerly of the West Mansfield area, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 7, 2002 at his home. He was employed with Chicago's CBS station WBBM Channel 2 for over 28 years as an electronics engineer. He formerly worked as a disc jockey and technician for seven years with WCOL 1230 AM in Columbus before moving to Chicago in 1974. He was a 1966 graduate of Buckeye Local High School and attended the Career Academy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for three years. He was interested in movies of all types and enjoyed studying movie theater history and collecting movie memorabilia. He was a former member of the Screen Projectors Guild of Columbus and was a former projectionist with the Palace Theater, the Ohio Theater, and the Drexel. He was born April 14, 1948 in Kenton to Willis and Ernestine Bland Bayless. He was preceded in death by his father in 1984. He is survived by his mother of Columbus; a brother, Kevin Bayless, Gahanna; a cousin, Yvonne (Danny) Hairston, Los Angeles, CA; a longtime friend, Andy Rayburn, Las Vegas, NV; a host of other cousins; and all of his friends and co-workers in Chicago.Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the MANNASMITH-SCHNURRENBERGER FUNERAL HOME West Mansfield. Reverend Leon L. Troy, Sr. will officiate and burial will take place at Hathaway Cemetery, West Mansfield. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home.
